This recipe is one of my all-time favorite breakfast treats! I swear it tastes like a Sonic milkshake but the ingredients are healthy breakfast staples that just do magical things when combined.
Wayyyy back when I was a kid my Grandpa Foster would make these for me every morning when he came to visit! That's why I call it Bananas Foster Milkshake. However, if you wanted to add cinnamon & rum (like traditional bananas foster) I'm sure it'd taste even better. Bam, you've gone from pre-school breakfast to poolside delight by adding 2 ingredients!
So the ingredients to this thing are pretty basic:
1 cup milk / 1 banana / 1 drop vanilla extract / 1/2 cup ice
Throw everything in a blender and you're done!
Getting freaky with it:
Lately we've been switching it up by substituting frozen watermelon for the ice. That's right, we're risk takers.
We've also been known to add frozen berries.
You can throw a raw egg in there if you want. That's how Grandpa Foster did em!
VEGAN: Works with rice, soy and almond milk too!
